As we work to grow our businesses on the internet, we can be overwhelmed with all the offers and hype.

Everybody claims to have the product, the best marketing tools, the best upline support, the best technical support, the best compensation, the best lead capture system, and the best______________  (Leave a comment to finish this sentence….. that could be fun!)

While these claims may be true for some,  it is simply not absolute.  When people are looking through the screen and pecking on the keyboard, the “human element” kicks in and, therefore, we get varied results.   That’s why internet marketing is so much fun.

Anyway, here’s a few principles we’ve learned to follow:

  • Ask a mentor/sponsor/upline/manager to name three big mistakes they’ve made in marketing and/or growing their business.  See what kind of answer you get.  If it is genuine and well reasoned, then you’ll know a few things to immediately avoid.   Combine that with the success that they are more likely to share with you, and – “poof” -  some guidelines will appear.
  • Spend money wisely, giving priority to permanent tools over temporary campaigns.   Here’s an article that goes into this in more detail:   Affordable Internet Marketing
  • Be methodical.  Seek to add a new marketing tool every two weeks or every month.  Get comfortable with each tool.  See what you like and don’t like about each one.  This will make you smarter, more efficient, and better able to answer the first bullet point when YOU get the question.
  • Reinvest your initial profits.  That’s what successful people do.  You’ll have plenty of time to go out to dinner in years to come.
  • One last functional tip.   Use this free tool:   Hits2U.   The link to you website will end up in places that you never knew existed.  Trust me.  Can I promise you’ll see tremendous results?  No.  That depends on the attractiveness of your text link and how much you read the four or five emails from the Administrator (and learn to “work” their free system.)

All the best in your online efforts.  Keep learning and growing!
