The Beatles In Vinyl Box Set
Quite a few music fans think that vinyl LPs are the most ultimate way to listen to an album. There’s some kind of magic to seeing the “black circle” (to quote Pearl Jam) spin and knowing that the amazing sound you’re listening to is coming from the needle rather than a series of 1s and 0s.
It is this “magic feeling” (to quote The Beatles) that has folks extremely excited about the rumors of The Beatles 2009 remasters making their way to vinyl LPs in 2010. Although as of this writing no release date has been officially set, it is known that Apple Corps. is working on a vinyl release of The Beatles remastered stereo mixes (but it’s not known if the mono versions will also be made available on vinyl.)
The Beatles vinyl LPs that are available currently were pressed using the 1987 remasters so these new vinyl LPs should be as improved in sound quality as the new discs are when compared to the old compact discs (and if you haven’t heard that difference yet, you really should get to it!)
Like many other Beatles fans I’m definitely planning on ordering The Beatles Remastered Vinyl LP Set as soon as it is available to buy (as I’m sure it’ll sell out fast) even though I’ve already bought all of these 2009 remasters on CD (and on The Beatles USB.)
According to the information that I have seen, the new Beatles vinyl will be available both individually and in a vinyl box set The rumored release date is 3/16/2010 but there is a good possibility that won’t end up being the actual date.
In the meantime I strongly recommend that you buy The Beatles Stereo CD Box Set and The Beatles Mono Box Set. They both sound great. I usually end up listening to stereo CDs more often (as I just prefer listening to music in stereo more than music mixed in mono, in general) but that being said, the mono remasters are interesting too.
